Finally after a lot of speculation, it has been officially announced that the leading lady for Farah Khan;s 4th directorial venture, Happy New Year would be none other than Deepika Padukone. The actress who has the biggest release of her career, Chennai Express, alongside SRK being released within ten days from now has been chosen for the coveted role.
The trio of Farah Khan, Shah Rukh and Deepika have already worked together in Om Shanti Om, which marked the debut of the actress in 2008. The movie was a blockbuster and was received well by both the audiences and the critics.
Deepika was reportedly very eager for the role, which was first rumoured to be done by television star Jennifer Winget. Recently, there were talks that Sushant Singh Rajput's girl friend was the final choice but no it seems there is no stopping Ms Padukone.
She has already been a part of the biggest hit of the year, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which had made 190 crores at the box office and with Chennai Express releasing next week she might touch new heights.
Happy New Year is slated for a late 2014 release and also stars Abhishek Bachchan.
