John Abraham replaces Akshay Kumar in Welcome 2

Well, John and Akshay have worked together in 3 movies out of which 2 have been successful at the box office. They shared excellent chemistry in 'Garam Masala', 'Desi Boyyz' and 'Housefull 2'. But now John Abraham is all set to replace Akshay Kumar in 'Welcome' franchise headed by producer Firoz Nadiadwala. The news comes as a surprise as Akshay has done many movies with Firoz including Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, Welcome, Aawara Pagal Deewana and Deewane Hue Pagal. But certainly situation has changed now. Firoz was trying to get Akshay for the sequel of Hera Pheri but things did not materialize. For Welcome sequel also Akshay does not seem to be much interested and hence Firoz was left with the only option to approach some other actor. John, on the other hand, readily agreed to do the movie.

'Welcome 2' will be directed by Anees Bazmee who helmed 'Welcome' too as it became the second biggest hit of 2007 after 'Om Shanti Om'. Anees Bazmee has also scripted sequels for 'No Entry' and 'Aankhein' but none of them has gone on floors yet. 'No Entry Mein Entry' will have Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan reprising their roles while the cast of 'Aankhein Chaar' is not yet finalized.
