Legendary Indian actor Pran passes away

Bollywood most famous villain Pran Krishan Sikand , popularly known as Pran, passed away today evening at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. He was 93 and admitted to the hospital few months ago. Pran received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year in May. He was unable to travel to Delhi to receive the award at the presentation ceremony because of ill health. He was given the award at his home in Mumbai the next day.

He is well known for his strong roles in movies like 'Zanjeer', 'Don', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Ram Aur Shyam', 'Devdas', 'Madhumati', 'Half Ticket', 'Upkar', 'Kashmir Ki Kali', 'Karz', 'Naseeb' and 'Shahenshah'.

Famous personalities expressed their grief through social micro blogging site.

Gujarat's Chief Minister and noted leader Narendra Modi tweeted-

Sad to know of demise of legendary actor Pran. He will be remembered for generations. Condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with Pran in many memorable movies, said - 

Pran Saheb passes away ! A gentleman, most collaborative colleague, a senior of immense distinction, a true disciplined professional
