When it comes to comedy, Tusshar Kapoor has enjoyed quite a few successes, most notably 'Golmaal' and 'Kya Kool Hain Hum' series. While each of these affairs has been over the top with some elements of sexual connotations added as well, Tusshar's this weekend release, 'Bajatey Raho', is said to be devoid of all of that.
"Not just that as it is also quite offbeat in nature," smiles Tusshar who was recently seen as a gangster in 'Shootout at Wadala', "While this one is a revenge comedy, it is somewhat middle of the road. Don't even compare this to my 'Golmaal' or 'Kya Kool...' films. Just like my other films like 'Gayab' and 'Shor In The City' where I have experimented with my act, same is the case with 'Bajatey Raho' as well. You won't see me as in a regular mode."
Hints of this have been thrown in the promos that have been on. While good testimonials have already come from the likes of Anil Kapoor,
Sanjay Gupta, Bipasha Basu and Ayushmann Khurranna to name a few, the film is also being noticed due to the director at the helm of affairs, Shashant Shah, who has earlier made 'Chalo Dilli' and 'Dasvidaniya'.
"Shashant has a slightly unconventional style of film making," says Tusshar, "At the same time his narrative is very entertaining. Of course it has the right blend of emotions, realism and fun to it. However, it is a new world altogether that he creates for his films. Personally for me, the kind of set up in 'Bajatey Raho' was completely different from what I have usually been a part of."
What Tusshar remembers most though is that part of Shashant's world which had a farmhouse set up to it.
Smiles Tusshar, "Yes, that was a special experience indeed. I had heard so much about 'Dilli ke farm houses'. Luckily I got to act in one and that too for an extended duration. I am told that it belongs to a very wealthy person in Delhi. He is one lucky man indeed."
