Being Inspired is Fine - Saif Ali Khan

In his last release 'Go Goa Gone', Saif Ali Khan played a 'Dilli waala Russian Mafioso' and was clearly enjoying every moment on screen. While his zomcom was an obvious inspiration from the world of West, he would be going totally 'desi' in his next release 'Bullett Raja'.

Clearly, Saif is playing a balancing game well.

He smiles, "At the end of the day, East is still East and West is West; never the twain shall meet. There is a big difference which would eventually be there in our cultures. There are certain things that we want entirely Indian and don't want any Western influence. Now that is amazing. Idea is to be best in where you are and stick to your culture. Still, being inspired is fine."

Meanwhile, even as he is all set to begin work on Sajid Khan's 'Humshakals', there are a series of interesting films that he is all set to begin, one of these being a political thriller which would be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Kabir Khan.

"I strongly believe that there is a new taste developing amongst Indian audience. There is this new generation out there which is intelligent, has far more worldly views and is much more exposed. They want something thought provoking. I am glad that we have somehow got rid of the tag of Bollywood and are now getting into Indian film industry terrain," Saif gets a tad serious here.

With an endeavour to come up with something which is indeed best, Saif is happy to find a long standing company of Dinesh Vijan, his friend and business partner.

"He is someone who gives wheels to my vision," says Saif, "Sometimes I have bad ideas and sometimes he has bad ideas. However when we both have good ideas then we knows. More than anything else, what works in our association is that I am not much interested in how it happens but the fact that it happens. The very fact that Dinesh makes things happen is what works for us."
