Jab Tak Hai Jaan made about 11 Crores on its 5th Day as per early estimates at the domestic box office. The Yash Chopra Romance’s total domestic box office collections as of now is about 71 Crores.
The movie managed to hold up pretty well in most part of the countries, with a single exception of Maharashtra where the sad demise of politician Balasaheb Thackerey closed down theaters. All the theaters were shut in Maharashtra towards late evenings and as such the movie missed out on a major chunk of cash flowing in from the state. The state’s theaters will also be shut on Sunday which means the Jab Tak Hai Jaan will incur considerable losses.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan was sure to show a considerable growth in Maharashtra had it not been for the theaters shutting down. If we talk of single screen theaters and mass belts Son of Sardaar is still doing better than Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

The movie was hit badly towards late evening in Maharashtra as all the theaters were shut down coz of Politician Balasaheb Thackerey’s sad demise. Had this not been so, the movie was sure to show better numbers on its 5th Day at the domestic box office. Also, the theaters in Maharashtra will be shut also on Sunday, which means the movie will take another hit.
North India showed a positive growth for SOS but the competition with Jab Tak Hai Jaan is having a bad effect on both the movies.
